Coming fresh off the heels of its much-hyped collaboration with J.W.Anderson, Japanese staple brand Uniqlo has added to its 2017 fall/winter roster with its new Uniqlo “U” collection. Created in the brand’s Paris atelier by Christopher Lemaire and coming with the tag line “Enlightening the Everyday,” the new range is billed as a “collection of progressive essentials” created with a view to “reinventing basics.”
Featuring free-flowing materials and unusual silhouettes, combined with quality season-appropriate materials, the “U” collection riffs on the brand’s reputation for fundamentals, taking commonplace items — such as jackets, hoodies and sweaters — up a notch to give the new range a distinctly premium flavor.
Uniqlo’s 2017 fall/winter “U” collection is due to drop in select stores on September 6 with early access via the web store expected October 5. If you can’t quite wait that long, check out the most recent installment — and first ever menswear drop — of the brand’s Inès de La Fressange collaboration.
