Reebok Honors Shaquille O'Neal With Commemorative "Platinum" Shaq Attaq Sneaker
Celebrating his platinum selling ‘Shaq Diesel’ rap album.
Way before his colorful NBA commentary and comedic Shatin’ a Fool television show segment, Shaquille O’Neal once upon a time dominated the sport of basketball with his bruising back-to-the-basket style of play. And, for those old enough to remember, the larger-than-life character even caught the rap game off guard with the release of his album Shaq Diesel. With that, Reebok is set to honor the man by releasing a “Platinum” version of his Shaq Attaq sneaker — an homage to the shoe itself and of course to Shaq’s platinum selling album.
The commemorative shoe features an all metallic-constructed upper, tongue pumps and dual branding found on the side panel and heel area. A clean white midsole completes the retro hoops classic. Set to make its debut on September 1, the new design will hit such retailers as Sneakersnstuff for a price of $249 USD.
Speaking of basketball, it looks as if Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas are switching teams in a reported blockbuster trade.
