'Game of Thrones' Star Kit Harington Stars in BBC Historical Drama ‘Gunpowder’
Covering the plot to kill King James I.
The BBC has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming three-part mini series Gunpowder, a historical thriller starring Game of Thrones Kit Harington and Liv Tyler. The period series tells the famous story of the 17th-century conspiracy called the “Gunpower Plot” where King James I was nearly assassinated in an attempt to blow up the British House of Lords.
Tyler plays Catesby’s cousin Anne Vaux, who gets caught up in the plot. Downton Abbey actor Tom Cullen plays Guy Fawkes, one of the conspirators. The teaser follows a trail of gunpowder into a cellar and sees Cullen’s Fawkes sitting alone until the camera reveals Harington behind him detailing his plan to kill the king and destroy Parliament.
