To mark the launch of his long awaited debut album this week, British producer Mura Masa has teamed up with emerging design collective Cold Heart Collective on a capsule collection of merch. The influences behind the capsule all come from different elements of Mura Masa’s work, with the ideas of transparency and layering — which are often touched on in the producer’s artwork and live shows — both important parts of the collection.
Layering is clear in the approach used, with images of Mura Masa and his friends referencing their artistic influences being overlaid with illustrations before being chopped up and collaged together. Transparency is referenced through the use of PVC as a staple fabric. Take a look at the Mura Masa x Cold Heart Collective capsule collection, and purchase select pieces at Mura Masa’s album release pop-up on July 14 and 15. Head over to Mura Masa’s site for more information on the pop-up.
As anticipation builds ahead of Mura Masa’s album, check out his recent performance on BBC Radio 1, where he debuted a new track and covered Calvin Harris’ Frank Ocean-featuring “Slide.”
