'Leatherface' Follows the Chainsaw-Wielding Maniac's Origin in Bloody New Trailer
The film will mark the eighth overall entry in the franchise.
Leatherface sees the iconic chainsaw wielder in his early years before the original ’70s film. In this recently revealed trailer, a young Leatherface is sentenced to a mental hospital for 10 years – he eventually escapes taking a young nurse and three other inmates along with him. Now a teen, the film will follow the iconic horror villain on a violent road trip back home, molding him into the monster we know from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The movie will mark the eighth overall entry in the franchise, which currently includes — in addition to the ’70s original, three sequels — a remake, a prequel to the remake, and a modern-day “direct sequel.” Catch the flick on DirecTV September 21, with a limited theatrical run and full VOD release through Lionsgate for October 20, 2017.
