FACTOTUM Heads Into the Woods for Its 2017 Fall/Winter Lookbook
The Japanese label showcases a nostalgic nod to the ’70s.

FACTOTUM has ventured out into the woods for its Fall/Winter 2017 drop, unveiling a nostalgic nod to the ’70s in the form of its “Pioneer” lookbook for the season ahead. Inspired by beloved Bavarian-born biologist Philipp Franz von Siebold (who spent years at a Dutch trading post in Nagasaki starting in the 1820s, amassing an enormous collection of Japanese ephemera along the way), the collection offers everything from camo-covered sweats and military coats to Nordic-like knits and tartan checks. Perhaps the most obvious nod to Siebold — who had a particular penchant for cartography and was in possession of countless Japanese maps — comes in the form of the map and compass motifs that appear throughout the range.
