ellesse and Dolan Create Cutting Edge Bicycle to Race the 'ellesse mile'

Italian sportswear company ellesse has teamed with British bike manufacturer Dolan Bikes on a new custom-made bicycle, specifically to race the “ellesse mile.”
After two years of in depth research and development, the bespoke bikes have been manufactured and are being held at the Biking La Manga store in Spain. The plan is for riders to compete on the ellesse x Dolan bike — up a grueling one mile hill — in a Strava cycling segment known as the Portman Green Mile. For the event, the Portman Green Mile has been dubbed the “ellesse mile.” Cyclists will compete by using the Strava app to document their times, which will then be recorded and compiled throughout the year on a leaderboard.
The bike is constructed with an Aero Road Frame and a SRAM eTap wireless electronic gear-shifting device — used by a handful of professional teams in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). It’s also made with a carbon fiber frame, handlebars, and stem cockpit. In addition to partnering with Dolan on the bike, ellesse has also produced a coinciding race suit, T-shirt and helmet.
