Dolce & Gabbana Presents Its Alta Sartoria Collection at the Cattedrale di Monreale

During Dolce & Gabbana‘s presentation of its Alta Sartoria collection — meaning “high-level formal wear” in Italian — fans could see how the world of fashion is changing. Taking place in a small hillside town outside Palermo, the models wore garments created in glistening silvered scales rather than plain, woven fabrics. Infusing both formal and smart casual aesthetics, the ensembles saw simple T-shirts embroidered with “Monreale” to magnificent patterns replicating ornate Byzantine pillars in the cathedral.
