British Designer Charlie May’s New Collection Keys in on Cuts and Craftsmanship

On-the-rise British designer Charlie May has taken strides to grow her eponymous womenswear label and has since applied her silhouette driven designs over to the menswear realm. Linking up with footwear artist Achilles Ion Gabriel, the collaborative duo gave way to a seasonal lineup comprised of simplistic wears. Keeping clean of any flashy prints, creative concentration is kept to shapes, cuts and fabrication — becoming the artistic focal point of the range. Closet staples are reimagined in such a way with definitive structures being displaced for flowy contour formations. For instance, overcoats feature oversized, slouchy-style pockets, workwear-inflicted coveralls undergo a high-fashion makeover with the inclusion of robe waist ties, while relaxed mandarin-collared tops team up with wide-legged trousers.
