Watch a Young Tupac Shakur in the Original 'Juice' Ending
“You got the juice now.”
The 25th anniversary edition of the cult classic movie Juice is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. The commemorative release includes bonus scenes, as well as commentary from the cast and crew. One scene that did not make the final cut depicts a young Tupac Shakur, cast as Bishop, choosing to fall to his death in the closing moments of the film.
Fans may remember the epic chase scene towards the end of the movie, where Bishop pursues Q through a party, and ultimately the two former friends end up on a rooftop. After a scuffle, Bishop falls from a ledge, but Q manages to grab him by his arm. Moviegoers saw Bishop fall because he couldn’t hold on to Q’s grip, but in the original ending — shown in the 25th anniversary edition – Bishop hears the cops coming and he chooses to let go of Q’s hand. Director Ernest R. Dickerson provides commentary throughout, revealing that the alternate finale “was just an attitude that showed that Bishop wasn’t a punk. He was a force that really had to be reckoned with in the right way.”
