Panerai‘s latest Mare Nostrum watch is a special edition reinterpretation of one of the brand’s watches from back in 1993, the ”Slytech” Mare Nostrum. The Mare Nostrum series has its origins in the Swiss brand’s military work, with the name translating as “Our Sea,” although the original 1940s watches never made it past the prototype stage and soon became collectors items. The new Mare Nostrum Accacio is cased in 42mm steel (compared to the 52mm case of other models in the series) and comes with a slate blue dial, with both features being reminiscent of the 1993 original. There’s no word yet on when the Accacio is releasing, but we do know it will be limited to 1,000 pieces, so don’t sleep on this one.
