Thanks to co-signs from international superstars like Drake, London rapper Giggs‘ career has been skyrocketing in recent years. Continuing to connect with audiences outside of his musical comfort zone, Giggs has linked up with Richard Russell for a standout track off the XL Recordings founder and owner’s debut solo project Close But Not Quite. Titled “Early This Morning,” the track samples Richard Russell’s Gil Scott-Heron collaboration “Me and the Devil” and was brought to life at Russell’s Residence La Revolution studio in London. Besides Giggs, Russell also worked with Ibeyi, Sampha, Wiki, Brian Eno, Mark Ronson, and others for his new Everything is Recorded solo project.

You can stream Richard Russell and Giggs’ “Early This Morning” above, and head on over to the official XL Recordings YouTube page to check out Close But Not Quite in its entirety.
