'Crazy Taxi' Is Now Free to Play on Your Smartphone
But there’s a small caveat.

Here’s some good news for smartphone users that yearn for some early naughties video game nostalgia. SEGA Studios has made its arcade hit Crazy Taxi free to play on both Android and iOS devices. The limited time offer gives users an all-inclusive throwback to the OG’s ’90s punk and rock soundtrack, classic open-world racing and the choice to ride arcade style or to make as much money in three-, five- or 10-minute runs. Users will be able to play on their smartphone with either tilting or touching their device, or get access to added controller support compatible with Power A Moga, Xbox and all HID controllers.
There’s one caveat though: while you won’t have to pay a penny for the app, you’ll have to sit through an aggressive amount of ads.
Usually, the Sega Dreamcast game costs $4.99 USD to play on mobile platforms and includes a side of mini games. Players who previously purchased the app can continue playing ad-free, while new users who download the new free version can opt to go ad-free for $1.99 USD. This promotion comes ahead of the release of a new game called Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire. You can download Crazy Taxi Classic on iTunes for iPhone and iPad or via Google Play for Android devices.
Also, The Sims is finally being released on iOS and Android devices, too.
