Conor McGregor Thanks Drake After Signing With Beats by Dre
The UFC Fighter shares what factors helped him land the deal.

UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor announced via his Instagram page that he has signed on to be an official Beats by Dre athlete. While the specifics of the deal were not announced, the fighter gave thanks to the people who played a role in the new partnership, including Drake, Bono, U2 and Beats by Dre co-founder Jimmy Iovine.

McGregor has always been public with his friendship with Drake. Last year, McGregor sat down with UFC’s Megan Olivi, where he talked about the time he and the rapper met in Los Angeles during Drake’s Summer Sixteen tour. “I’m a big fan of Drake. I had a meeting with Jimmy Iovine of Apple and he invited me to the show…I’d spoke to Drake before the first Diaz fight – he reached out and messaged me – and we’ve been in contact since then.”
The new deal is just one of the many things going on in Conor McGregor’s life right now. Recently, he called out Boxer Floyd Mayweather on Twitter in an attempt to finalize the scheduled boxing match between the two.
