Wes Anderson's Anticipated 'Isle of Dogs' Film Gets a Release Date
Alongside a new poster featuring five pups.

Last December, Wes Anderson announced a new stop-motion movie in the works titled Isle of Dogs. The cult filmmaker has enlisted a star-studded cast, including Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Bryan Cranston, Greta Gerwig, Jeff Goldblum, Yoko Ono and Harvey Keitel. As a whole, the film centers upon a young boy’s journey to find his lost dog. Additionally, Anderson has expressed that the movie will be “heavily influenced by the work of Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, as well as Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion Christmas specials,” as per Variety.
Now, Fox Searchlight Pictures has officially revealed the release date alongside a minimal poster (below) featuring five pups huddling around a boy — the protagonist, perhaps — attached to a parachute. The film, which features talking animals, gets a very suitable premiere date on April 20, 2018. Yup, it’s about to get super trippy.
