Toyota Fulfills Your Childhood Dream With This Life-Sized Tonka HiLux Truck
In celebration of Toyota’s 80th and Tonka’s 70th anniversaries.
Having never grown out of their toy car phase, the team at Toyota Australia has collaborated with the Tonka brand to transmogrify the 2016 SR5 HiLux truck into an adult-sized joyride. Outfitted with a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, heavy-duty suspension and 35-inch tires, the truck also features a snorkel, light bar, and a grin-inducing Tonka-themed paint job. A timely project given the fact that this year is the 70th and 80th anniversaries of Tonka and Toyota respectively, the truck will be making a tour of Australia this June.
