'SNL' Does a Hilarious Parody of Pepsi's Kendall Jenner Ad

SNL has released a sketch mocking Pepsi‘s “tone deaf” ad featuring Kendall Jenner, which saw two sides of a protest unite over a can of soda. The advertisement was widely criticized for trivializing the struggles of people of color and subsequently pulled by Pepsi.

SNL‘s parody gives a behind-the-scene glimpse of how the disastrous ad came together from the director’s point of view. In an effective use of comic relief, the sketch does a good job at capturing everything wrong with the ad, while also giving some spotlight on the what were probably good-natured intentions behind the ignorant ad. “I think maybe you just don’t get it,” says the oblivious white Pepsi ad guy.
