Apple Patents a Waterproof, Wireless Charging AirPods Case
With the potential to charge all your iDevices in one place while on the go.
Apple recently released a slew of 250 patents in one day, and Patently Apple found among them some interesting developments planned for the AirPods charging case. While the charging case is currently only compatible with AirPods, one patent shows that a future version may add wireless charging for other devices such as the Apple Watch. Another patent shows that waterproofing capabilities may also be applied to the AirPods case. While these developments are still at the patent stage for all we know — meaning it might be years before they see the light of day — it would be wise to hold off purchasing a pair until Apple releases future improved versions.
