The-sirius's 2017 Fall/Winter Collection Leaps Into the Future
This emerging Korean label has a modern approach to deconstructed outerwear.
The-sirius pushes menswear boundaries with its forward-thinking mentality. Founded in 2015 by Younchan Chung who recently won the International Fashion Showcase Designer by the British Fashion Council, the emerging brand focuses on a “new future, visionary” and showcased its 2017 fall/winter collection at Seoul Fashion Week for the second season. The collection features oversized outerwear and sleeves, deep cuts, and baggy trousers with side slits in earthy and warm colors. As Chung’s avant-garde approach to menswear may seem conceptual rather than functional, the attention to details are there. For example, the beige/creme turtle is a hybrid of ribbed and knit as well as the deconstructed denim trench that has geometric patterns that could be found on a blueprint.
