Gaming Peripheral Maker Mad Catz Has Filed for Bankruptcy
After nearly three decades of business.
After nearly three decades, gaming peripheral maker Mad Catz recently filed for bankruptcy following years of financial trouble. As of March 31, the company formally ceased all operations with all its directors and officers resigning while assets are waiting to be liquidated. Founded in 1989, Mad Catz built its company producing third party peripherals for PC, console and mobile gaming at a lower price point. But over the years, third-party gaming gear lost its edge in the industry as consumers buying patterns moved towards purchasing official products exclusively.
