Carrie Fisher Will Appear in 'Star Wars: Episode IX' Without Use of CGI
Disney follows through on its promise.

Following up on its promise to not digitally recreate Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Disney has confirmed that the late actress will appear in the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode IX by way of recent footage granted by the Fisher family, according to Carrie’s brother Todd. This will be a stark contrast to Lucasfilm‘s heavy reliance of CGI in Rogue One, and will require producers to be selective with footage and screen play in order to preserve intended storyline without inconsistencies, especially given that Fisher has already shot her General Leia scenes for Episode VIII.
