It appears that The Roots have been heavily influenced by their recent collaboration with the Hamilton musical. For NBA All-Star weekend, the American hip hop group performed a musical about the history of basketball, detailing the progression the NBA, starting from the ’50s and ending with the introduction of this year’s All-Star Game players. The historical musical featured appearances from stars such as Jidenna, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Creed actor Michael B. Jordan, Run D.M.C.’s Darry McDaniels, and even Hamilton‘s Daveed Diggs.
