Sophie Turner Confirms 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Won't Air Until 2019
Winter is coming… in a bit.

The rumors have been confirmed and if you’re a Game of Thrones fan, it’s not the best news — the final season of HBO’s hit show won’t air until 2019. In a recent interview with Variety, Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark revealed that the series’ conclusion is still “six or seven” months away from completion.
Despite filming beginning in October, it’s no surprise that the last season, that is set to feature some film-length episodes, won’t be ready until 2019. Turner, who has recently been cast as Jean Grey in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, banished any ideas that there may, in fact, be a season 9 stating, “We’re all kind of feeling the end of it coming. We’re all staying in town a little longer, going out for more meals, trying to get together more.” The final six installments are set to be directed by David Nutter, Miguel Sapochnik, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
