The Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez Collab Gets a Release Date
Ring in 2018 right.
Kendrick Lamar officially joined Nike back in August after a lukewarm partnership with Reebok Classics and earlier last week, we got our first look at Kendrick Lamar’s first venture with the sportswear giant: a retro Cortez runner taking on a Kung Fu Kenny-inspired colorway. Though a red-based Cortez rumored to be a Lamar project surfaced in October, the final official product takes on a contrasting red and white upper which is accented by a large Swoosh on the sides and is finished off by a classic Cortez sole unit. Final touches on the silhouette include Chinese script on the toe area and a “DON’T TRIP” lace holder.
Nike has officially announced the release date for the Kendrick Lamar x Nike Cortez “Kenny” which is set for GRAMMYs night on Sunday, January 28. The shoes will be available through SNKRS when the show starts at 7:30 p.m. EST retailing for $100 USD.
