adidas Originals Revives the Montreal 76 Silhouette
Two new colorways of the archival sneaker
Following on from a string of recent releases — including its N-9523 “Collegiate” pack – adidas Originals has announced plans to revive the Montreal 76 silhouette from its archives. The sneaker was originally created as an all-purpose training and lifestyle shoe for athletes competing in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.
The reissued sneaker comes in two versions, one with a navy blue upper — the same as on the original model — and the other in a monochrome black colorway. The Montreal 76 retains other design elements from its first issue, including its brown rubber foxing tape, collapsible heel counter and perforated round toe.
The two-sneaker pack is set to drop at select retailers on December 13. While you wait, take a look at adidas Originals’ GORE-TEX collaboration with Swedish retailer Sneakersnstuff.
