A Rick Owens Retrospective Will Debut in Italy
The Triennale Di Milano will host “SUBHUMAN INHUMAN SUPERHUMAN.”

Following his recent work with New York’s MoMA, Rick Owens has announced his latest artistic endeavor; Milan’s Triennale Di Milano will host a retrospective based on the California-born, Paris-based designer.
The Fashion Department curator at the Triennale Di Milano, Eleonora Fiorani, suggested an exhibition entirely dedicated to Rick Owens — that initial concept yielded this showcase, dubbed “SUBHUMAN INHUMAN SUPERHUMAN.” Owens had complete control over the exhibit, which will juxtapose a selection of clothing from Owens’s archive with furniture, film, a sculptural installation and other facets chosen and designed by the designer. Based around an exploration of Owens’s influences, the show will trace various themes and influences found throughout his work which includes artists like Alessandro Manzoni, Pierre Molinier, Marcel Duchamp and more.
The exhibit opens on December 14 at 7 p.m. and runs until March 25, 2018 at the Triennale Di Milano. In other fashion news, the world’s most desirable label, Balenciaga, has released its “SINNERS” capsule collection.
