Crafted by Swedish designer Love Hultén the portable gaming arcade — dubbed the Cary42 — seamlessly blends traditional workmanship with modern technology. Concealed within an American walnut briefcase, the two-player arcade console, which is an updated model of the R-Kaid-R device, is adorned with metallic grey panels and black/white buttons.
The console itself consists of a 12-inch LCD monitor, 10w stereo speakers and 16GB of storage that comes with 100 pre-installed games. Including classics like Metal Slug, Street Fighter and Tetris, the storage is also expandable via USB so you have the ability to store over 10,000 emulated games.
This retro throwback takes nostalgic arcade gaming to a new level, a portable level. Limited to only 50 units, the Car42 is extremely rare and getting your hands on one won’t be easy — but it would be worth the effort. Price at $3,000 USD the device can be pre-ordered now.
