LABRAT & PORTER Created the Perfect MA-1 Jacket
The reversible bomber has over a dozen pockets.
Japanese labels LABRAT and PORTER first teamed up in 2006 for set of multipocketed items, including a bomber and shorts. The pair have reunited for Fall/Winter 2017, with the MA-1 jacket making a triumphant return.
Taking military influence to an obvious extreme, the pair crammed an oversized bomber with over 13 zippered and buttoned pockets. Canadian army influences appear in the form of the cigarette pocket on the sleeve, while the excessive detailing takes cues from Swiss army parachute jackets. Furthermore, the reversible jacket can be worn with PORTER’s signature orange lining on the outside.
Retailing for ¥108,000 YEN (approximately $960 USD), the LABRAT x PORTER jacket is currently available from LABRAT’s web store and distributors like UP THE BRACKET. For more heavy-duty Japanese outerwear, check out the newest iteration of visvim’s Valdez coat.
