GSP Chokes out Michael Bisping, Becomes New Middleweight Champion at UFC 217
Overcoming all odds.

After a lengthy hiatus/retirement, George St. Pierre choked Michael Bisping unconscious in the third round of their headlining UFC 217 middleweight title fight at Madison Square Garden. Although the two fighters went back and forth in the earlier rounds, GSP dropped Bisping and executed a rear naked choke to end the fight 30 seconds into the third round. And despite moving up a weight class, ring rust and his age, GSP overcame all odds that were mounted against him during the months leading up to the meetup in the octagon. Additionally, T.J. Dillashaw defeated Cody Garbrandt for the bantamweight championship belt and Rose Namajunas defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the strawweight championship belt at the night of title transfers.
