'Thoroughbreds' Trailer Showcases a Dark Comedy About Murder
Starring Anton Yelchin in one of his final roles.
Focus Features has released the first red-band trailer for its upcoming dark comedy Thoroughbreds. Thoroughbreds is directed and written by Corey Finley and follows childhood friends Lily (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Amanda (Olivia Cooke) come back together having endured completely different life experiences.
Lily comes from a polished upper-class lifestyle while Amanda has become a witty social misfit. Despite this, the two come together for shared contempt for Lily’s oppressive stepfather Mark (Paul Sparks). This hatred brings out each other’s destructive tendencies, leading them to a local hustler (Anton Yelchin) to carry out an illegal agenda. The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to positive reviews.
