Just in time for his birthday, St. Louis-area MC returns with a groovy, upbeat track produced by Sango called “Sorbet.” This rhythmic beat is the rappers first solo output since releasing his debut album blkswn back in March.
The track opens with the classic Marilyn Monroe birthday soundbite for obvious reasons before Smino goes on to rap about the tribulations of daily life. Smino’s futuristic funk and soulful rap influences are particularly noticeable as he slides over Sango’s hi-tempo beat. The rapper is currently on tour with SZA.
You can listen to the track below. In other music news, Eminem’s new album is apparently complete.
