Experimental hip-hop outfit Shabazz Palaces have unveiled a trippy new monochrome visual for “Since C.A.Y.A.,” the standout Thundercat-assisted opening cut from Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star, one of the summer’s paired Quazarz album releases. Directed by Stephan Gray, video stars Shabazz Palaces’ Palaceer Lazaro, who maneuvers through underground tunnels and finds himself in a squabble with some chained snakes. The video also contains additional footage from Kahlil Joseph who known for his work on Beyoncé’s Lemonade film and Sampha’s film, Process.

The video shot entirely in black and white and somewhat hard to decipher with the random flitches and scene cuts which may be intentional. Watch above and in case you missed, watch Shabazz Palaces’ recent takeover of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
