Hunter S. Thompson TV Series in the Works

MGM TV has announced an upcoming series based on the life of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. The authorized project will be dubbed Fear and Loathing, taking its title from the famed Thompson novel.
Showrunner Davey Holmes brought Get Shorty to television this year and based on the show’s popularity, secured the backing of MGM TV. With a huge range of topics to potentially cover, ranging from Thompson’s time spent riding with the Hell’s Angels to his campaign to run for sheriff in Colorado, the show could go in a variety of directions.
No time frame for the show’s release date has been released, but stay tuned. In the meantime, MGM has worked with Roku to release a selection of its films on the streaming service.
