Hannibal Buress Recounts Meeting JAY-Z & Beyoncé in New Series 'Storyville'
While at JAY’s 40/40 club with Chance and Vic Mensa.
One would imagine that meeting JAY-Z and Beyoncé at a party in New York would be a pretty great experience and in most instances, that would likely be the case, unless you’re Hannibal Buress. In the first episode of his new six-part series, Storyville, Buress tells of the time he first encountered JAY-Z and Beyoncé.
At the start of the episode, Buress admits to not “feeling comfortable” at big fancy events and would usually prefer hanging out in regular diners. However, since Buress was meeting up with his good Chicago buddies, Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper, he ended up at JAY-Z’s 40/40 club. The comedian explains how as the night unfolded, he became more relaxed and started to enjoy himself until JAY-Z and Beyoncé walked in, that is. “Everybody goes crazy. The whole energy—I’ve never seen anything like that,” the comedian recalls. As the four artists; Chance, JAY-Z, Beyoncé and Vic were posing together for a few photos, Buress felt it would be ok for him to snap a couple of his friends with these two huge stars. He was quickly proved wrong, as JAY-Z pointed him out and bluntly said, “Be Cool.” Pretty ruthless from Jiggaman.
