CGNY's Fall/Winter 2017 Collection Exemplifies Monochromatic Minimalism
Clean, contemporary streetwear.
With the Fall/Winter 2017 period officially underway, CGNY looks to further build on its foundation of devising minimalist streetwear staples — effectively towing the line between upscale casual and contemporary sophistication. As a follow up from its Beat Generation-influenced spring offering, the NYC-based imprint, this time, centralizes its focus on applying artistic twists on a swarm of quintessential classics. An ideal balance between style and substance, the brand once again embraces its core aesthetics, though, in a way that properly respects the season at hand.
The lineup adheres to a monochromatic color palette comprised of varying shades of grey — mirroring the somber temperament of fall, while black helps anchor the range — providing subtle contrast all the way around. Standout pieces, include the Heavy-washed Denim Windbreaker, Stonewashed M65 Jacket and “Futureless” Embroidery Polo, which when paired alongside the Corduroy Jogger Pant and Faux Wool Embroidery Trouser, do well to spotlight a collection that stylistically intersects a barrage of cuts, silhouettes and styles.
