Gestalten Delves Into the History of the Iconic Porshe 911 in New Tome
“The Ultimate Sportscar as Cultural Icon.”

As Gestalten puts it, the Porsche 911 is “a symbol of the relentless desire for peak power and limitless performance.” So it should come as now surprise that for its latest automotive-centric endeavor, the Berlin-based publisher is highlighting none other than “the thinking man’s sports car” itself.
Dubbed Porsche 911: The Ultimate Sportscar as Cultural Icon, the upcoming tome looks at the “technical meisterwerk” behind the vehicle and looks all the way back to its initial launch in 1963. Though “despised by many in Germany as a set of wheels for fat cats,” the 911 has undoubtedly become the go-to for free spirits and intellectuals the world over — a juxtaposition the book looks to explain over its 240 pages. As author Ulf Poschardt concludes with regards to Porsche drivers, “a little narcissm can be a healthy thing.”
Porsche fans can pre-order The Ultimate Sportscar as Cultural Icon now from Amazon for $40 USD while a release is currently slated for April 14.
