Nikon Introduces Two New Action Cameras for KeyMission Line

Earlier in January, Nikon first introduced its KeyMission 360 camera at the annual Consumer Electronics Show. The device can shoot 360 degrees (hence the name) and is both water- and shock-resistant. Recently, as part of its Photokina 2016 presentation, the optics and imaging stalwart unveiled two brand new action cameras to its KeyMission range: the KeyMission 170 that touts 4K ultra HD video recording and a field vision of 170 degrees as well as the KeyMission 80, a wearable camera with 1080p video recording and a field vision of 80 degrees.
Getting down to the nitty gritty, folks interested in the KeyMission 170 wouldn’t need to purchase a case for it since it’s shock-, water- and freeze-resistant. Moreover, it’s fitted with a 12-megapixel 1/2.3” CMOS sensor, built-in LCD, tripod socket, stereo mic as well as a Nikon EN-EL12 battery. The KeyMission 80—meant to be held in a vertical position—is also equipped with a 12MP 1/2.3” CMOS sensor as well as a 4.9-mega-pixel selfie-cam at its back.
Last but not least, Nikon also revealed a new SnapBridge 360-170 mobile app and desktop program. The app will help extreme sports shutterbugs control their KeyMission devices remotely and switch settings easily. All action cameras are slated to hit store shelves this October.
