Oscar de la Renta's Peter Copping Steps Down as Creative Director
The designer was handpicked by Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo himself.

Peter Copping has officially resigned from his post as creative director of Oscar de la Renta, Vogue reports. Copping spent almost two fruitful years with the luxury Dominican-American fashion house, where he carried the house’s design legacy of Spanish romanticism and bold evening-wear. “After almost two years at Oscar de la Renta, personal circumstances require me to return to Europe,” reads his statement. “I have loved my time in New York where I hope to return at some point in the future.”
Copping’s illustrious career includes working alongside Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and designing for Nina Ricci before he was handpicked by the label’s esteemed founder and fashion designer Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo shortly before passing in October 2014. Copping departs on a good note from the company.
