Jean-Claude Van Damme Returns in 'Kickboxer: Vengeance' Trailer
A remake of the ’80s martial arts film.
Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme reboots his 1989 cult martial arts film Kickboxer with an updated remake titled Kickboxer: Vengeance. Similar to Sylvester Stallone returning as Rocky Balboa in Creed, JCVD plays the instructor to an MMA fighter named Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi). The plot is fairly straightforward, mirroring the original movie as Kurt seeks to avenge his brother after he dies in a match against Muy Thai champion Tong Po, played by Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista. The action-heavy scenes show Van Damme getting back into the game, also starring former MMA fighter Gina Carano, among other UFC heavyweights.
