ASICS Drops a Tanabata Festival-Inspired Pack

Drawing upon the Tanabata Festival’s cosmic origins, ASICS Tiger present two textured new sneakers on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. The GEL-Kayano comes in yellow suede and sits atop an olive green rubber sole. The insole is inscribed with the Japanese for ‘Tanabata’, meaning ‘Evening of the seventh’. The GEL-Respector features a premium nubuck upper with a blend of dark greens and sits atop a tan rubber sole. The Japanese festival’s iconic streamer decorations are printed on the GEL-Respector model’s insole. The two pairs represent deities Orihime and Hikoboshi, lovers separated by the Milky Way according to Japanese legend.
