Lenovo Made a Smart Shoe That Doubles as a Mobile Game Controller
Wearable technology continues to expand.
During Lenovo’s Tech World conference in San Francisco, the electronics giant unveiled a smart running shoe in collaboration with chip maker Intel and outsole company Vibram. In addition to incorporating all of the features one would expect from a smart running shoe, like fitness and calorie tracking, it also includes the ability to function as a mobile game controller. When paired with a running game app, commands can be controlled through varying movements in the shoe.
Additional capabilities include a customizable 3D-printed insole, LED lights on the outsole, and a button on the front for personalized news updates. Since the shoe is currently just a prototype, it’s difficult to see how these features will actually play out. However, from what we can see so far, the overall silhouette and innovative functionality is something we’re looking forward to seeing in market.
