'Final Fantasy XV' Debuts First-Person VR Mode in New E3 Trailer
Chocobos and… car chases?
The latest trailer for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV has a little bit of everything going on: the trailer’s first half boasts an over-the-top EDM soundtrack, courtesy of Afrojack, over footage of epic, cinematic fight scenes. The game also features new game dynamics, enemies and vehicles, as well as airships, car chases and chocobos.
The extended E3 trailer makes its biggest reveal in the second half: FFXV will introduce a first-person Final Fantasy Virtual Reality Experience, utilizing Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR capabilities to immerse players in the FF universe as never before.
It is unclear whether the VR Experience will be sold as a standalone Square Enix game or whether it will come bundled with FFXV upon its initial release. Regardless, FFXV comes out on September 30, 2016.
