EA Sports Introduces 'FIFA 17'
The flagship footy franchise gets a new engine and its first-ever story mode.

Finally, after almost a decade, FIFA is getting a brand new game engine — thus ensuring that the latest installment of the flagship soccer video game franchise gets one of its biggest overhauls to date. Due out late this summer, FIFA 17 — which was officially unveiled yesterday — boasts EA Sports’ new Frostbite engine for better, more lifelike gameplay and player models. Frostbite isn’t the only major change, however. FIFA 17 will also feature a true single-player story mode that should put the old “Be A Pro” to shame. Dubbed “The Journey,” the campaign will see players in the role of fictional up-and-comer Alex Hunter as he looks to make his mark in the Premier League.
FIFA 17 will be available globally come September 29 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC and can be pre-ordered online now.
