Azealia Banks Apologizes for Using Homophobic Slurs

Last month, Azealia Banks was banned from Twitter after sending a series of insulting tweets to former One Direction member Zayn Malik and including a number of homophobic slurs. In addition, she was dropped from the lineup for Rinse FM’s Born & Bred Festival as a result of the controversy. She also faces potential legal action, from a series of graphic tweets directed at Sarah Palin from April. Azealia Banks has now shared an apology on her Facebook page. She writes:

This isn’t Banks’ first apology in regards to the usage of slurs in the last few weeks. She shared an apology on her Instagram, last month, saying then: “Employing racial/sexual slurs/stereotypes in attempts to make fun of or degrade another person or group is absolutely unacceptable and is not fair or fun for anyone.”
