Model/Actress Rila Fukushima Joins 'Ghost in the Shell' Cast Alongside Scarlett Johansson
DreamWorks’ answer to the whitewashing allegations.

Japanese model and actress Rila Fukushima has joined the cast of DreamWorks’ upcoming adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The move comes after the film was widely accused of whitewashing the source material when Scarlett Johansson was cast as the film’s cyborg protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi. Fukushima joins as one of the few actors who has starred in adaptations of both DC and Marvel Comics, having played Katana in The CW’s Arrow and Yukio in Marvel’s Wolverine.
