The New Balance MRT580 Receives a Dapper Rework
A smart-casual alternative for spring.

Originally released in 1996, New Balance conceived the wedged MRT580 as part of its expansive running category which combated the sneaker boom of the early ’90s. Throughout the years, the model has seen its share of reworks, specifically in the Asian market — think WHIZ LIMITED, mita sneakers, et al. The latest rendition, comes in the form of a crisp blue colorway which overhauls the classic runner’s upper entirely. Gray hits at the vamp and heel aptly complement the sneaker’s dapper motif. Making its transition from an athletic model to a clean, smart-casual option, the spring MRT580 is now available from select retailers including Sneaker Politics.
