Alden Ehrenreich Cast as Young Han Solo in 'Star Wars' Spin-Offs

Alden Ehrenreich is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations for the role of a young Han Solo in the Star Wars spin-off series, which will focus on the fan-favorite character. Following a huge search which yielded over 2,500 auditions, a trio of hopefuls was finally chosen. This includes Kingsman actor Taron Egerton and Transformers: Age of Extinction‘s Jack Reynor. The Han Solo spin-off series isn’t scheduled for release until 2018, so we’ll have to wait until then to see whether Ehrenreich has the chops to don Han Solo’s signature vest.
