Following the tragic passing of yet another music icon on April 21, Saturday Night live took to Twitter in the evening of Friday to announce that it will be airing a special tribute to the late, great Prince. Referencing Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Saturday Night Live’s tribute will be titled “SNL Goodnight Sweet Prince,” and will offer an emotional retrospective look at Prince’s most iconic SNL performances — a show on which he appeared a total of three times between 1981 and 2014. FOX network’s New Girl is also scheduled to replay its “Prince” post-Super Bowl episode in which the man himself appeared as the host to a lavish mansion party. The tribute is scheduled to air at 23:30 local time, with more information available on SNL’s official website.
