Jean Jullien Teams up With NYC's Classic Specs for Its Artist Collaboration Series
Inspired by the french saying, “Snake with Glasses.”

French graphic designer Jean Jullien — most famous for his sketch used as the official “Pray for Paris” emblem — has recently signed up to be the latest featured artist for eyewear brand Classic Specs’s “Artist Collaboration Series.” The ongoing campaign brings on selected artists from around the world to create unique, limited edition glasses and sunglasses, with Jullien offering something astray from his typical satirical work. Jullien’s contribution stems from a old french saying, “serpent à lunettes,” which translates to “snake with glasses.” Admittedly, the inspirational phrase does seem satirical, but it’s actually more of an endearing statement to give to someone who wears glasses while more traditionally it refers to a type of Indian cobra. The designs for the range feature an orange snake that spans the inner temple, with the black frames sporting subtle marks throughout. Both frames, dubbed “Venom,” have a price range of $119 USD to $305 USD depending on the lens, and can be purchased from Classic Specs online store.
