Google X Hires Pied Piper Founder Richard Hendricks
He joins Astro Teller’s Moonshot team at Google X.
Major moves in the tech world today as Google’s experimental X division has announced that it has hired Richard Hendricks, best known for his work as founder and CEO of compression algorithm start-up Pied Piper. Hendricks has been brought on by Google X head Astro Teller to aid in the compression of the secretive lab’s many Moonshots—a Googleism for projects with an outside chance of success, like Google Glass or the think-tank’s inaugural mission of getting Google to space. Hendricks is optimistic about the company’s prospects of solving the world’s problems, promising “we can tackle them, or squish them like giants.”
